I purchased a Shimano Ultegra group from Colorado Cyclist. Their site claimed that the RD-R8000 SS rear derailleur was compatible with a 30 tooth cassette. After installing it on my bike, I found out it didn’t work with the 30 tooth cassette and a 52-36 crank setup. I actually needed the long cage derailleur for that configuration. The derailleur was only tested briefly to confirm it was incompatible. If the website hadn’t indicated that this RD would fit, I wouldn’t have made the purchase. Colorado Cyclist refused to accept the return since I had mounted it on the bike, which was the only way to check its functionality. Remember, their site stated this RD was suitable. I dropped over $2k on this order, and they wouldn’t take back a part that their own website claimed would work for me. Just terrible. I won’t be shopping with them again, and I suggest you look elsewhere for your bike components. There are plenty of other shops out there with way better customer service. Lesson learned.
